Lynn Garafola, New Jersey-Licensed Salesperson, Broker and Team Leader of Team Nest Builder, announced that Karen Horowitz has joined the team as the newest sales team member.

Meet Team Nest Builder's newest member: Karen Horowitz!

“I’m thrilled to welcome Karen to the Sparta office and the Team Nest Builder family,” Garafola said. “She possesses wonderful experience in home redesign, staging, construction and renovation. Whether investors; first-time home buyers; or trade-up or trade-down sellers; our clients will be in good hands with Karen's keen eye, hands-on experience, and careful guidance."

Horowitz joins Team Nest Builder with a lifetime of real estate knowledge, having been raised in a Colorado family of Realtors, and has been flipping houses in New York City metro area for 10 years. Prior to moving to New Jersey, she worked in human resources in New York City for UBS Group AG and JP Morgan Chase in investment banking.

“House flipping is in my DNA, and you have to know both sides intimately--selling and buying-- in order to flip successfully,” Horowitz said. “Choosing the right house in the right market is the most important part of flipping. I’ve been looking at properties and values in this area for 5 years, so I know the market.” Horowitz feels her knowledge of home redesign and staging will greatly benefit her clients. “When I’m working with buyers, I show them homes with a contractor’s eye and flag things for my clients that most home inspectors will likely raise concerns about.  My construction background is helpful that way.”

Garafola added, “When it comes to helping sellers ready their homes for sale, Karen makes recommendations that were market-tested by her own renovations and re-decorating projects."

Regarding client service, Horowitz said, “Most importantly, I’m open and upfront.  If I make a commitment to someone, I do backflips to follow through. I have a very good relationship with everyone I’ve sold a house to because of that.  My clients know that when I make a promise, I get the job done!”

A resident of Sparta since 2013, Horowitz lives with her husband, Rich, and their cats, Oliver Twist, Maud and Pinkie.  “We moved to Sparta from New York City because we wanted privacy and space,” said Horowitz. “We love our beautiful home, but our favorite thing about living in Sparta is the people!  People are just nicer to each other here.”
